The Compass

BeKenya

The Compass

What we believe, how we work, and what that means for your trip.

What we stand for

Four things we hold ourselves to, on every trip.

Honesty
We tell you what a trip really costs, what it really involves, and when something isn't right for you.
Kindness
To guests, to guides, and to the people whose home you're visiting. It costs nothing and changes everything.
Support
You're never on your own. Someone who knows Kenya is a phone call away, before and during your trip.
Presence
We keep the pace human. Fewer places, more time in each, room to actually notice where you are.

How we earn

We don't earn by extraction. We earn by expansion.

The guides, drivers and cooks on your trip are paid properly, and they're from the places you visit. We'd rather grow by doing right by people than by squeezing them. When our partners do well, we do well — and you get a better trip, because the people looking after you actually want to be there.

The code we work by

Care before commerce
If what's best for you isn't what's best for our margin, we'll still tell you.
Truth before silence
If something goes wrong, you hear it from us first.
Local in action
Kenyan guides, Kenyan-owned partners, Kenyan suppliers. Not a token.
Human in spirit
You're a guest, not a booking reference.

Be real. Be kind. BeKenya.

If that sounds like your kind of trip, tell us what you're after and we'll build it around you.
